At the recent Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Annual Meeting, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation announced that medical student members of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) will be able to indicate their membership in the society on the ERAS Application. This change will take place with the 2016 application season.
Created in 2002, GHHS recognizes students who place an emphasis on compassion, respect, and empathy during encounters with patients, colleagues, and superiors. To be considered for the award, students must first be nominated by their peers. Currently, there are 116 medical schools with GHHS chapters.
